One of the key principles of Data Governance is ensuring that patients are informed of how their personal data is used by an organisation, and how they can access a copy of the data that is held about them from the organisation itself. The availability of personal data is of huge concern to the common public, and rightly so; there have been distinct very public examples of lost and inappropriately shared personal data over the past year.
