The state of Michigan, and much more localized, the megalopolis of Detroit, has always been known for their exceptional sports teams, earning them the title of the original ‘Megalopolis of Champions.’ With a remarkable 18 combined championships between the 4 major sports teams in the area, the pro teams are just the tip of the iceberg. The University of Michigan is the only university in college history to win at least one national championship in all four major sports.
